If you can dream it, you can become it.
Someone said that.
You are the only one who can make your dream a reality. How does coaching help?
- Accountability: each session gives you the opportunity to blow your own horn, celebrate your successes, and explore the learning points from efforts that didn’t quite lead to what you intended.
- Take stock of how your life looks today. There may be parts of your life not working for you. Coaching helps you look at them without judgement or blaming.
- Visualize the things you want to be/do/ have. If you don’t have a picture in your mind of what you want, how will you know when you get it?
- Consider new ideas for your life – goals, options, where to start, what might get in the way, and how to manage that. Coaching brings new tools and techniques to use in your life.
- Recognise your strengths, what you have going for you NOW. You’ve got lots of things in place to help you move forward. Coaching will help you recognise them.
- Keep on track, moving toward what you want, until you get it.
Different from a friend, who offers sympathy or advice, your coach helps you discover your own solutions, and empowers you to create the life you want.
Different from a counsellor, who helps you heal the past, your coach helps you design your life (Laura Fontgang said something like that).
